welcome

Michelle loves film. And cake. That’s how Layer Cake Films was born. Michelle is a professional film editor who has worked for many companies in her years of freelancing, including Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, & Fox Racing. In addition to editing tons of rap & music videos, she edited on the show Monster Garage for 2 seasons before its demise (check out her editing website here: SpliceGirl).

Michelle was the editor of Bliss Video Productions for almost 4 years. She took her professional film editing skills & stylized fast cutting to the wedding industry & helped make Bliss an industry presence. Her MTV style edit was the first of its kind & has had many imitators. Her attention to detail & treatment of every wedding video as its own personal film by finely editing & catering to a couple’s personal style helped rejuvenate wedding video editing.

Wondering whom she would hire to shoot her own wedding when the day came, Michelle realized there was no one out there who seemed to be affordable, have the ability to create fun & beautiful films with stylized editing, or the skill to use a soundtrack that reflected her tastes. Michelle started Layer Cake Films in an attempt to give her generation fun, offbeat, exciting wedding films that are catered to personal tastes. Family & friends rejoice! No more hour-long wedding videos in which to suffer through. Layer Cake captures moments you'll want to remember & crafts them into a film you’ll want to watch. Our product is tightly edited & kept short, around 15-45 minutes long depending on package size. This is very important to us. Wedding videos are too long & involved, thereby replacing your memories of the day by what has been shot. Wedding films should enhance or remind you of the day so that your own personal memories & feelings are sparked by the moments that have been captured. Super 8mm film has the unique ability to usually do just that. Layer Cake Films strives to be the company in which to deliver it to you.

Remember: everyone stays for the cake!
